Meet Dr. Jason Porter. Dr. Porter is a thoracic medical oncologist and hematologist who derives great joy from assisting patients and their families as they navigate frightening territory.

Another amazing human.

On today's episode, meet Dr. Jason Porter. Dr. Porter is a thoracic medical oncologist and hematologist at the West Cancer Center and Research Institute in Memphis TN, where he is the Director of the Lung Cancer disease research group. He spends the majority of his time working in the clinics with patients diagnosed with lung cancer. Before he was a physician, he walked the cancer journey with both of his parents, and he knows first-hand what it’s like to wait on a test result or a call back to address a new symptom or concern. He derives great joy from assisting patients and their families as they navigate this potentially frightening territory. He specializes in treating patients with molecularly-altered lung cancers, as well as those lung cancers with no actionable driver mutation. Jason earned his medical degree from the University of Tennessee of Health Science Center, where he did his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology.
